Dr. Oshri Borgman

Group leader

I am an environmental hydrology and soil science researcher interested in fundamental processes and mechanisms.

Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Universite de Rennes 1 in Rennes, France, and at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel.

I completed my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Soil and Water Sciences and later obtained my Ph.D. from the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment.

In my spare time, I nurture a very unsuccessful career as an amateur bassist and enjoy spending time with my family.

Leah Oren

Lab manager

I completed my B.Sc. and M.Sc. at Tel Aviv University in Israel. My M.Sc. research was in the Department of Molecular Biology and Ecology of Plants and focused on the genetic dissection of polygenic traits in wheat using introgression lines.

Omer Elmalem

Undergraduate research assistant

Omer is a skilled Data Scientist with a strong research and data science background and expertise in Python, classical Machine Learning, deep neural networks, and various data analysis tools.

His skills extend to designing Convolutional Neural Networks, employing data mining and visualization packages, and implementing classical supervised ML algorithms.
Omer's educational background includes pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physics at The Open University of Israel, with a focus on experimental research at CERN. His seminar project on "Finding the Higgs Boson" showcased his proficiency in data analysis, receiving recognition and setting a new standard for the course curriculum.
